Helen Ramsbottom: RN, LCSW
Helen has been in the mental health field since 1989-first as a psychiatric nurse, then as a licensed clinical social worker. She has worked at various levels of care which include inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient counseling. Helen specializes in Christian-based counseling and cognitive-behavioral therapy. She uses a strength-based approach to counseling. Helen believes that God has given her a love for both nursing and social work, and she blends her background to address the whole person (physically, mentally, and spiritually). She has also been an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Texas at Arlington in their graduate Social Work department. Helen also has enjoyed teaching on various topics to community groups and schools. She is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and has volunteered to debrief many public service departments.
Helen enjoys time with her husband, son, daughter and dog! Hiking, exercising and going to movies are fun pastimes. She’s also involved in her church and enjoys serving others through different ministries over the years.
