Morgan Shumar: MA, LPC-Associate

morgan

Morgan, an Oklahoma native, earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Oklahoma State University in 2015. She spent five years post-undergrad working in Marketing, before deciding to go back to school and pursue her real passion of helping others through therapy. She graduated with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberland’s in 2023. Growing up, Morgan loved psychology and learning to understand human behavior. While she worked in business, she found herself excelling in training roles, because she loved connecting with new people and encouraging them through the onboarding process. After many years of considering going back to school, she finally took the leap after feeling called to pursue a role in counseling. Therapy has helped her manage her own struggles and she believes wholeheartedly that everyone can benefit. Her goal is to offer clients a safe and empathetic space to share, grow intrapersonal awareness, and hopefully overcome or cope with grief, anxiety, trauma, and more. Morgan has a passion for helping people and wants every person to feel they are heard and understood.

When she’s not working she spends her free time with her husband, son, and family pets. Morgan and her family love to travel, read books, workout, and cook together while also spending time with close friends and their families. They enjoy their church community and living in DFW, where they recently relocated to be near Morgan’s family.
