Amy Walsh - Student Counselor
Amy is a graduate school student working on her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Divine Mercy University. She graduated from Boise State University with a Philosophy degree in 2019. Since then, Amy has spent her time doing missionary work on college campuses and working in church ministry. Over the years, she became more and more passionate about cultivating relationships and “meeting people where they are”. Being let in on people’s stories, even briefly, is so special to Amy, who sincerely desires to care for every person she encounters. It is a privilege for her to witness other’s vulnerability and help them toward healing and flourishing.
The initial draw to the counseling field came from Amy’s personal struggles, which led to a deep appreciation for therapy, especially the space that individual therapy creates for the client to share openly and honestly in a non-judgmental environment. Shortly after her own counseling experience, she knew she was meant to pursue a degree in counseling. Her time in school the last two and a half years has been full of learning and growth, and she is so excited to continue learning at Hope and Growth Center!
Outside of school and work, Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially while eating a nice meal or playing a board game. She also loves to exercise, sing, play guitar, and read.
Amy is supervised by Sarah Bentz MA, LPC-S
