Anxiety and Stress Management Management Group

Anxiety and Stress Management Management Group

It is no surprise that anxiety and stress are on the rise these days, especially among young adults. The world seems as uncertain as ever, and emerging adults face countless choices, stressors, and everyday life difficulties. Life can feel pretty scary, and the pile of "what-ifs" and "to-do's" stacks up higher and higher, leading to exhaustion, overwhelm, and a feeling of stuck-ness that can be hard to shake. Does that sound like something you've experienced before? If your answer is "yes," you're in good company.

As someone in their mid-20s who is juggling many things, I often find myself feeling stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed, wondering how everything is going to get done and how I'm going to get where I want to go. While I don't have all the answers and am in the messiness with you, I have found peace and hope in recognizing what is in my control and what is out of my control. I have learned coping skills, healthy boundaries, and helpful routines that keep me feeling balanced (at least most of the time), and most importantly, I have learned to be kind to myself in the process, recognizing that stress and anxiety are normal and that they don't define me.

Beginning Wednesday, July 10th, from 6:30pm-8pm (and continuing weekly through August 21st), Hope and Growth Center will be providing an Anxiety and Stress Management group for young adults ages 18+ (the cost is $15 a session, and you can register by emailing amy@hopeandgrowthcenter.com). The group will cover topics such as:

  • Understanding your stressors
  • Building healthy relationships and boundaries
  • Emotional regulation and coping skills
  • Practicing self-compassion and self-care
  • Discovering your passions
  • Creating and maintaining healthy routines

It would be a privilege to accompany you on this journey towards greater freedom and peace. Take heart in knowing that you're not alone and I hope to meet you soon!

Here’s to growing together,

Amy Walsh, Student Counselor
